Artist Statement:

 

The foremost concern in my work has always been a search for subject matter.

My dream like narratives are inspired by the world around me and indirectly from the world within me.

 

As events in a dream can bear a symbolic, relationship to the waking world of the dreamer, the situations depicted in my paintings sometimes unconsciously reflect personal questions or concerns, events, emotions or discoveries that I am experiencing at the moment.

 

Figures become actors on a stage, performing allegorical dramas inspired by the human condition, both personal and universal. The open ended narrative seeks to provoke a train of thought, inspiring a search for meaning, that left open, allows for personal interpretation.
